Shiatsu therapy is a non-invasive manual therapy from Japan that stimulates the body's inherent ability to heal itself. It involves the systematic application of pressure, to different points on the soft tissues of the body in order to assess and treat a variety of conditions. Treating the nervous system can help to improve organ function and reduce muscle tension.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Thai Massage is an ancient, healing therapy performed on a large floor mat or massage table with the client wearing comfy, stretchy clothes. No oils or lotions are used. Practitioners move in tandem with the client to apply passive or dynamic yoga style stretching and compression applied in a meditative rocking motion.
